After leaving the beach in Dahab under threat, with no clear route and no protection, the original plan collapsed. Equipment was abandoned. Visibility became danger. Survival required improvisation, not movement.
A grey pillowcase, found blowing across the desert, replaced a rucksack.
Not by design — by necessity.
This artwork documents that pivot.
The silhouette stands still, not because the danger has passed, but because moving incorrectly would mean death. The desert offers no shelter, no direction, no mercy. The pillowcase — fragile, wrong, and unmistakably human — becomes the only lifeline. Everything else has already been discarded.
There is no heroism here.
No victory pose.
Only the discipline to stop, reassess, and adapt when the system expects collapse.
