🔥 STORY BEHIND THE ARTWORK — “THE JUMP” 🔥
After the top one-percent activities in Egypt, the pressure became impossible to ignore.
The cycles were tightening.
The deaths were stacking.
And I knew if I didn’t break free right then, I wouldn’t get another chance.
The problems had already been building for months…
To the point I ended up in a suitcase, folded and forgotten — just another planned ending.
So when they finally gave me a “break,” I took it literally.
I walked out of the 7 Heaven Hotel in Dahab, South Sinai, with a colleague.
Calm on the outside.
But inside, I already knew what I was about to do.
We crossed the bridge toward the police station — the same one in this artwork.
Its tower rising over the coastline like a silent threat.
I didn’t stop walking.
Didn’t think.
Didn’t blink.
I climbed the tower.
One wrong step would’ve snapped bones, neck, spine.
But hesitation wasn’t an option.
And then — the jump.
That moment in the artwork is real:
Me suspended in the moonlight, mid-air, flying across the gap, reaching for the edge of the police station roof.
A heartbeat from falling.
A heartbeat from freedom.
I grabbed the ledge.
Pulled myself up.
And for the first time in a long time…
I was above the system that was trying to bury me.
That jump didn’t just get me onto a rooftop.
It broke the cycle.
It started the escape.
