DAHAB — WAIT AT FIRST LIGHT (Silver Edition)
A1 Who Dares Wins | MR39-7
A moment suspended between life and death.
Dahab, Egypt. First light. One man still standing.
This artwork captures the exact moment Robert Bailey (MR39-7) waited on Masbat Beach after being warned he would be taken into the Red Sea at dawn — and chose to stand his ground.
FULL STORY BEHIND THE ART
This piece documents a real moment.
After suffering a targeted energy-based attack inside his hotel, Robert Bailey left without raising alarm. He threw his pack from the balcony, told the police officer watching him, “Let’s go,” and walked alone to Masbat Beach, directly in front of Dahab Police Station.
He had been told the Russians would arrive at 6:00 a.m.
That he would be taken into the Red Sea.
For hours — under moonlight, then fading stars — he stood at ease, facing the Gulf of Aqaba. Saudi Arabia visible across the water. No movement. No panic. Only calculation.
At one point, the pressure broke.
He turned, walked into the police station, and asked the officer to take him into the back room and put a bullet in his head. The officer cocked his weapon. A British one-pence coin bearing Queen Elizabeth II was slammed onto the desk.
Bailey picked it up, put it in his pocket, turned, and walked back to the beach.
This artwork captures that return — the moment of self-doubt defeated, the decision made to live, and the stillness before movement.
No violence is shown.
No heroics are staged.
Only resolve.
