The Origins — Why This Music Exists
This composition originates from a real-life encounter involving an individual watching a film, whose behaviour and apparent fixation I found deeply unusual.
I retained the significance of that experience for many years, reflecting on what I observed and how I understood subsequent events.
The music draws on my wider personal experiences, concerns about safety, the consequences of destructive behaviour, and the importance of observation, reflection, resilience and independent judgement.
It also represents something fundamental about who I am.
I got off my arse and put the work into my life.
From my military mentality in 1991, through experiences in Barmouth, Gwynedd, Thailand, the Bahamas, Egypt, Kenya and France, the composition follows the development of my personal outlook and the original concepts I have constructed over decades.
The Cinematic Opening — 300
A vast Persian army converges.
The ground trembles.
Stone cracks.
Massive rubble crashes to the ground.
Female: “Earthquake?”
Male: “No, ma’am. Battle formations.”
Then the industrial assault begins.

Against that cinematic imagery stands another personal symbol from the period I call the Death Flat:
They had three hundred shields. I had one wooden shield.

These references are drawn from my personal experiences and original TRSR-7® work, transformed into musical expression rather than presented as professional instruction.
The song also reflects my description of repeatedly cycling through complex scenarios and reassessing the circumstances I faced.
