The Story Behind the Work

This artwork documents the real end of the Dahab Gold survival arc — the moment the road was reached after descending from the Sinai peaks, following days of dehydration, exposure, and disorientation. Shortly after this moment, a passing pickup vehicle stopped and water was given.

The image ends before that happens.

Because survival is not the rescue —
survival is reaching the line where rescue becomes possible.
