THE SUMMIT III (THE EDGE OF CONTINUATION)

Limited Edition Fine Art Poster

This image captures the most dangerous psychological moment of the climb — not ascent, not descent, but pause.

At extreme altitude in the Sinai mountains, the figure stands at the rim of vision itself. Below, the land dissolves into layers of pale haze and distant razor-thin peaks. The scale is no longer readable. Distance loses meaning. Direction becomes a concept, not a map.

The figure is weighted with what remains of survival equipment — minimal, improvised, inadequate — yet still upright. Walking poles are not tools of comfort here; they are instruments of balance, proof that standing is still possible.

This was the point where logistics had failed:

  • No water

  • No resupply

  • No margin for error

What remains is assessment.

The mountains stretch endlessly, wave after wave of hostile geometry. There is no visible shelter, no obvious route forward, no promise that descent will be safer than staying still. The sky is heavy, the light flat and unforgiving — a visual reminder that time is no longer an ally.

This artwork documents the moment survival becomes a calculation, not an instinct. Where the body has reached its limit, but the mind must still decide.

Summit III belongs to the Dahab / Sinai phase of My Life, My Deaths, Their Plans Failed (2001–2025) and represents the point where escape was still uncertain — and standing still was as dangerous as moving.
